Review:

I bought the WinTV PCI-FM to put DV tapes on DVD. I've put two tapes on DVD and although I have never done that before I managed it in a couple of hours.

Installing the card and the software was done in 15 minutes. The only thing that took a little more time was setting up the channels. It's possible to search the channels automatically, but some channels aren't found. So I put in the frequencies manually. Good image quality. Not perfect, but that's probably because my antenna cable is old.

The remote control works fine. The only problem is that if you use the up and down buttons to change the channels, it always starts at the first channel. Another problem is that I can't get the remote to work when logging in under another name (I have two users under XP).

*EDIT*This problem is solved by putting the frequencies in manually right after the installation of the software. So don't let the program scan for the channels. The user problem is solved by installing the software after you've made all the accounts. The accounts have to be administrators for the infrared remote to work. So you have to make a choice: safety of a limited user or the ease of a remote. I chose the last.*EDIT*

The remote itself looks like a normal television remote with lots of functions. Teletext pages are shown in a seperate window.

Recording is easy with the one button recording option. Just set all the settings and after you've done that you can record every tvshow by pressing one button. You can also schedule your recordings and listen to FM radio. I haven't used those options yet, but when I have, I will update my review.

Positive:

- Audio cable included
- Remote control
- Good image quality
- Easy recording
- Listen to radio

Negative:

- Remote doesn't work under limited account
